While digesting this material, it is important not to become burdened with your knowledge of the method—it is vital that you perceive it through the eyes and mind of a layman (don’t think about what you are actually doing; concentrate on what an audience is thinking). I say this because magicians have a tendency to overvalue difficult technical approaches (regardless of whether or not they are objectively any good), and undervalue approaches which are simple (regardless of what that simplicity is achieving). The technical elements within this publication are relatively simple to perform, but when they are combined with psychology and presentation they are larger than the sum of their parts.
