Number 6 was a free issue and also dated April 5, 1942. The opening effect is a cut and restored by Walter Gibson using a paper tape measure. I don’t know how readily available they are today as the last time I saw them was at the IKEA store a few years ago. It would be a clever idea for a pseudo impromptu display of magic.
The second effect is Frank Thomas’s On the Head – a two person mentalism routine that was introduced in Gibson’s Seven Circles (April 1931 – June 1934). These types of mentalism tricks aren’t my favorite as I’ve only seen one two person act that was truly remarkable – Simon and Ginny Aronson.
The Backroom featured Gibson’s reminiscences of Carl Brema’s Magic Shop in Philadelphia.
