  • Rhetorical question: Why do so many magicians wear hats? I’ve joked about this for years, often saying you can tell it’s a magic gathering by the number wearing hats. I can understand wearing one if you’re balding as sun protection. However most seem to be making a fashion statement.
  • Most of the magicians the magic community holds in awe are unknown to the average person.
  • It’s said that to be a writer, you need to be a reader. What is magic’s equivalent?
  • There’s at least one YouTube magic reviewer that posts one video review every day. Think about that. It’s simply amazing – particularly when you consider how much magic is being released in order for this to happen.
  • While I’ve never quite understood Max Maven and his motivations as a person and as a performer, he did make some profound statements about magic and magicians. One that has stayed with me is that magicians need to transcend the reason they got into magic in the first place.
  • Speaking of Max, I’ve often wondered how he reacted to the statement Ken Weber made about his style in Maximum Entertainment.
  • If you’re taken with a new release, bookmark it or put it on your wishlist. Check back in a few days or weeks and see if you’re still interested.
  • A copy of one of the books written by Andy of the Jerx is currently available on a second hand bookseller for $1200.00.
  • Speaking of the Jerx, the fact that Andy’s true identity has never been revealed dispels the statement that, next to government workers, magicians are the worst secret keepers.
