Remembering Eddie Ace

It’s said that later in life, Vernon carried a list of friends that passed. As I grow older, I’m beginning to understand as I realize a many of my friends and mentors exist only in my memories. It makes me appreciate the ones still around.

On June 22, another friend was added to my list – Eddie Ace Pacacha. He was 91 and enjoyed good health until the last few months. Eddie was a magician and a craftsman. He carved sponge rabbits, bears, penguins, minions, and other creatures into multiplying effects.

It was through Eddie’s work that I was able to have a real conversation with Lance Burton at a McBride gathering many years ago. We both carried and performed with Eddie’s rabbits.

Eddie was crazy enough to carve me a roasted chicken for an idea that I had. Unfortunately the effect never came to fruition.

Eddie was a kind and generous person.
